Nilotica Shea butter - the treasure from Uganda

The Nilotica Shea butter, obtained from the nuts of the Vitellaria Nilotica Baue, is a special variant of the classic shea butter. This unique tree thrives in the fertile regions of East Africa, especially in Uganda. The ideal climatic conditions and gentle cultivation builds a butter of exceptional quality, which captivates both in its consistency and in its nourishing properties.

What distinguishes Nilotica Shea butter from conventional sheet butter is its softer, almost velvety texture and its high content of valuable oleic acids. They make them particularly nourishing and intensively moisturizing. It is rich in natural vitamins such as vitamin A and E, which are known for nourishing the skin and supporting its regeneration. Cultivation and sustainability

The Nilotica Shea butter is won in Uganda under sustainable conditions. The Vitellaria Nilotica Baum grows in the natural savanna landscape and is grown without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. These trees are extremely resistant to climatic fluctuations and are excellent with the region's natural rain cycles.

The seasons in Uganda play a crucial role in the cultivation of the Nilotica Shea butter. During the rainy season, which usually lasts from March to May and from October to December, the trees are supplied with plenty of water, which is decisive for growth and fruit formation of the shea nuts. In the dry season, which prevails between June and August and from December to February, the trees store the water to nourish their nuts until the harvest phase. This natural adaptation to the climatic conditions makes the Vitellaria Nilotica Baum particularly resistant and contributes to the sustainability of the Shea production.

The trees do not need artificial irrigation because they are deeply rooted and able to pull water out of the deeper layers of the soil. This natural water supply minimizes water consumption, which makes shea production particularly environmentally friendly. The nuts are traditionally harvested by hand when they are ripe and carefully processed to ensure the high quality of the butter.

This sustainable procedure not only supports the environment, but also the local population, which receives fair working conditions and income through the production of butter.

Storage and application

Nilotica Shea butter should be stored at room temperature, because its natural consistency becomes firmer at cooler temperatures and softer again when it is warm. It is easy to spread on the skin and quickly moves in without leaving a greasy film.
